Demo Boats
Having the right kit is a must if you're going to get the most out of your time on the water. Our staff are second to none at helping customer pick out the best gear, but sometimes, it's nice to be able to have a test run. And that's what our demo service is geared up for...
We charge £25.00* to take one of our demo boats out for the day and we’ll deduct your demo fee(s) from the price of a canoe, kayak or sit-on-top should you choose to buy one from us - as long as you present your receipts at the point of purchase.
We let our demo boats go out from when the shop opens (9:00 Monday - Saturday, 10:00 on Sunday) until 45 minutes before it closes (18:00 Monday - Friday, 17:00 on Saturday and 16:00 on Sunday, with reduced hours over public holidays). And our shop is just a stone’s throw away from some sheltered lakes, the River Trent and the white water course at Holme Pierrepont - not bad for a choice of water conditions!
There's a list of our demo boats below. As we often attend events with a fleet of demos, it's best to e-mail (sales@desperate-measures.co.uk) or call (0115 981 6815) us beforehand. We’ll make sure that your chosen boat is available and we will reserve it for you. If you're planning to paddle on the white water course at Holme Pierrepont it's also good idea to check that it's open before travelling (0115 982 4717).
