About Us Established in 1987, Desperate Measures has been trading from our showrooms in the Lady Bay area of West Bridgford, Nottingham for over twenty years. We have built a reputation for supplying high quality kayaking, canoeing and safety equipment, along with honest advice, to individuals, organisations and businesses throughout the UK, and, more recently, across Europe.

We have designed this website to be used as an extension of our Nottingham showrooms. We hope that you will find everything that you need here, but if you do need anymore information, please contact use by e-mail or by phone (0115 981 68 15).
As in our showrooms, our staff will be happy to help. They are passionate about paddle sports and have a wealth of experience and know-how in all disciplines, as well as a depth of knowledge in other water sports and adventurous activities.

However you get on with the site, we'd love to hear from you. If you've got any feedback at all, just e-mail us and we'll see what we can do.

When you place an order using any of the methods described above you are offering to buy products at the stated price, subject to these terms.

When you place your order online we will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received it. This e-mail is generated automatically so that you have a confirmation of your order details. The fact that you receive an automatic confirmation does not necessarily mean that we will be able to meet your Order.

Once we have sent the confirmation email we will then check availability and contact you with a further email. If the Product is available and the details of the order are correct, this email will be deemed an acceptance and will specify delivery details and confirm the price of the Products purchased. If the Product is not available we will also contact you via e-mail.

Desperate Measures may cancel any sale and not supply Products if it is reasonable to do so and may change or discontinue the availability of Products at any time at its sole discretion.

If an Order is cancelled, any payment made for the Products will be refunded in full.

This does not affect your Statutory Rights.
Shipping And Handling Postage cost is £4.99 unless the total cost of the order is over £85, and then delivery is free. This includes kayaks and paddles but excludes Sea Kayaks and Canoes

We send orders by various couriers or Royal Mail Recorded Delivery, both of which will require a signature on receipt. If there is nobody available at the delivery address to accept delivery a card will be left to inform the recipient of where the parcel can be collected. It then becomes the recipient's responsibility to collect the parcel. We accept no liability if the delivery is not made due to the recipient not being available. If the recipient fails to collect the parcel in good time the goods will be returned to us and a charge will be made for redelivery to that or an alternative address.
In the event that you select a business address for delivery, we shall be deemed to have delivered the order to its intended recipient by delivering it to the reception area of the business address.
Delivery Schedule We will dispatch your order within 2 working days and you should receive your order within 3-5 working days depending on the courier. International orders are generally received in under 7 days.

You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, the current VAT rate will be applied.
